What date and what time will this BPTO event take place?
The event is Saturday, October 30th from 5PM – 7:30PM. In order to keep all attendees safe, we will have staggered start times again this year. Attendees must pre-register for a specific time and may only arrive at their designated start time.
What if it rains?
This is a rain/snow/shine event.
Where is the location of this event?
This event will take place on Johnson Field. Johnson Field is located behind the Police Department and DPW, 7 Spofford Pond Road.
- This event requires walking in fields
- The Trick-or-Treat Trail is 3/4 mile
- Please dress appropriately, with sturdy shoes/boots, strollers/wagons for children, flashlights, etc.
How do I register for this event?
Registration is open from October 1 to October 24th.
*Registration is REQUIRED for this event; non-registered guests will not be permitted.
What does this event cost?
$5 per Trick-or-Treater, adults must register, but there is no fee.
Are there public restrooms?
No. Please use the bathroom before you arrive.
Will masks be required, and will social distancing be enforced?
As of 9/22/21, masks are not required to attend the event. Yes, social distancing will be enforced. All attendees must pre-register, arrive at their appointed start time, and exit the premises when they have concluded the trick-or-treat trail.
The Boxford Board of Health (BBOH) requires that all Candy Post Host's and those gathered within their Candy Post space wear masks. The BPTO will continue to work with the BBOH and notify all registered attendees of any changes.
To promote safety for our community, the following guidelines must be adhered to:
- If you or anyone in your family has experienced ANY symptoms of COVID-19 within 48 hours of the event, please do NOT attend.
- All those in attendance may ONLY participate during their appointed time frame.
- Once you are finished Trick-or-Treating, please exit the premises, so others may enjoy the festivities in a safe, socially distanced manner (NO GROUP GATHERING).
Will there be nut-free candy available?
Yes! Each Candy Post will be provided with a supply of nut-free candy for children with nut allergies.
Can my child attend this without a supervising adult?
No. This is NOT a drop-off event. All children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
I am interested in hosting a Candy Post. What does this entail?
A Candy Post can be as simple as a folding table with candy on it, or an elaborate pop-up tent decorated with Halloween themed music. It is up to you. We just ask that you supply your own candy. Please note that electricity will not be provided.

How can I donate candy?
Individually wrapped candy in unopened bags can be donated at the following locations, look for the Boo Box - Boxford Police Station and the East Village Boxford Fire Department, Front Offices at both Cole School and Spofford Pond. Thank you for your generosity.
